School Opened: 2004

Duryea Elementary was named after Peggy Duryea who was a teacher and team leader at Holbrook Elementary, an assistant principal at Lamkin Elementary and Bleyl Junior High, a counselor at Millsap Elementary, a principal at Moore Elementary and Dean Intermediate, a personnel manager, assistant to the superintendent and associate superintendent for school administration and human resources before retiring in June 2002.
